ITAP 2022 - Industry 4.0 For Business Sustainability

A*STAR, together with our ecosystem partners, will be part of the Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC (ITAP) trade show for the 5th year running!

Happening from 18-20 Oct 2022 at Singapore EXPO, this year’s event is themed "Industry 4.0 for Business Sustainability", which will explore trends and developments in digitalisation, talent and workforce development and environmental sustainability – key in shaping sustainable business development for the advanced manufacturing sector, both locally and on a global stage.

INITIATIVES BY A*STAR AND PARTNERS TO SUPPORT SINGAPORE’S KEY PRIORITIES FOR INDUSTRY 4.0

DPM Heng Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat spoke about Singapore’s key priorities for Industry 4.0 in innovation, sustainability and people, including contributions by A*STAR and partners through various initiatives.

  • National Gallium Nitride Technology Centre, a shared resource and translation centre which is being set up as a partnership between A*STAR, Nanyang Technological University and DSO National Laboratories, to open new frontiers in semiconductor materials

GREEN COMPASS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) SIGNING

A*STAR, JTC, TÜV SÜD, Enterprise Singapore, Singapore Manufacturing Federation, Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association, and Singapore Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at ITAP 2022 on 19 October 2022, in a joint effort to further develop and promote Green CompassTM to more companies in Singapore.

The environmental sustainability assessment and roadmapping tool empowers companies to better manage their carbon emissions, energy, water and waste impact, as well as chart roadmaps to ace their sustainability journey.

FUTURE OF MANUFACTURING (FOM) CXO SUMMIT AND ROUNDTABLES

Co-organised by A*STAR and Constellar, the Future of Manufacturing (FOM) CXO Summit and Roundtables, held at ITAP 2022 on 19 October 2022, featured a series of insightful talks, panel and roundtable discussions attended by thought leaders from various industry sectors. The event placed the spotlight on sustainability for manufacturing through energy, process and products, such as enhancing manufacturing efficiency with Industry 4.0 technologies, improving sustainability with potential alternative energy solutions and achieving a circular economy through smart solutions.

ITAP 2022_event 6Prof Lim Keng Hui, Assistant Chief Executive, Science & Engineering Research Council, A*STAR, delivered the opening address where he spoke about how A*STAR and partners are committed to supporting and working with businesses through “Future of Manufacturing” public-private partnership initiatives.

 

ITAP 2022_event 4Prof Yeoh Lean Weng, Chief Sustainability Officer, A*STAR, delivered the opening keynote, where he shared about the importance of “Manufacturing for Sustainability and Sustainable Manufacturing”, and evolving with increased consumer demand for green products by placing sustainability at the core of product design.

 

ITAP 2022_event 5Prof Loh Xian Jun, Executive Director, Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE2) and Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR delivered the closing remarks, where he shared that a circular economy is vital for the future of business continuity in a move towards a greener future..
