Prof Gregory Goh conferred The Public Administration Medal (Bronze) at the National Day Awards 2026

The A*STAR National Metrology Centre (NMC) warmly congratulates Prof Gregory Goh, Executive Director of NMC, on being conferred The Public Administration Medal (Bronze) at this year’s National Day Awards.

The Public Administration Medal recognises outstanding efficiency, competence and industry in public administration. Prof Goh’s conferment is a meaningful recognition of his sustained leadership as Executive Director of NMC and his contributions to Singapore’s public service, particularly in strengthening the nation’s metrology capabilities and National Quality Infrastructure.

Through purposeful partnerships and translational programmes, Prof Goh has helped deliver significant impact for Singapore’s industry and economy. Under his leadership, NMC supported the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore in verifying new bunker mass flow meters and operationalising data integrity verification for digital bunkering and electronic bunker delivery notes. These efforts strengthened trust, transparency and efficiency in bunker operations, contributing to estimated annual manpower savings of about 40,000 man-days and supporting Singapore’s continued position as the world’s largest bunkering hub.

Prof Goh also played a key role in strengthening Singapore’s international standing in metrology. He helped advance regional collaboration and capability building through NMC’s operationalisation of the world’s first IAEA Regional Expert Centre for Analysis and Training, positioning Singapore as a trusted partner in climate and sustainability metrology. His leadership and strategic vision are also recognised internationally, as reflected by his election as Chair of the Asia Pacific Metrology Programme.

His leadership has also enabled NMC to support industry partners in building critical capabilities, including Metcore’s international growth following the elevation of Singapore’s bunkering standard to ISO level, Abrasive Engineering’s development of next-generation industrial valves and sensing systems through AE Joint Lab 2.0, and efforts to strengthen Singapore’s emerging battery and energy ecosystem, including his role as Founding Chair of the Singapore Battery Consortium.

Beyond these achievements, Prof Goh has built a culture of excellence, innovation and service within NMC. Under his leadership, NMC has received several prestigious national and public sector awards, while continuing to strengthen its talent pipeline, organisational capability and cross-sector collaborations.
