The Centre for Maritime Digitalisation (C4MD) was established by A*STAR to spearhead the development of cutting-edge digital solutions aimed at transforming Singapore’s maritime industry. By focusing on smart shipping, advanced port systems and decarbonisation, C4MD is committed to enhancing sustainability, safety and efficiency within the maritime ecosystem. The centre leverages expertise in computational modelling, simulation and artificial intelligence (AI) to create practical, deployable solutions that address industry-specific challenges.

Under the leadership of A*STAR’s Institute of High-Performance Computing (IHPC), C4MD collaborates with a range of stakeholders, including Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), research organisations, industry partners and public sector agencies. This collaborative approach enables C4MD to drive innovation and support Singapore’s position as a global maritime hub.
