This AI-powered system is designed to streamline vessel routes for Launch Boat services, maximising efficiency while reducing fuel consumption and maintaining high service quality. Through collaboration with industry partners, the system has shown a significant impact, demonstrating the potential to reduce surface-level traffic, decrease the distance travelled by vessels, and lower emissions by up to 25%.
In addition to optimising Launch Boat routes, A*STAR has also introduced a fuel consumption optimisation system specifically for harbour tug services. This system uses advanced AI algorithms and integrates data from various sources, including traffic, machinery performance, operational factors, and environmental conditions. By optimising the transit routes for tugboats, this AI solution not only enhances operational efficiency but also significantly reduces fuel usage. Initial projections indicate that this optimisation could lead to annual fuel savings.
