Strengthening Singapore Air Hub Status

In collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), a series of advanced capabilities are being developed to elevate Singapore’s air hub by improving air traffic and airside management. These initiatives focus on enhancing efficiency, productivity and sustainability across various operations. Key projects include the deployment of a sophisticated speech-to-text tool to streamline post-operations transcription, accelerating the incident investigation process for quicker response and resolution.

Additionally, a capacity estimation tool has been introduced to facilitate effective demand-capacity balancing within airspace, allowing for smoother and safer air traffic management. The collaboration further explores sustainable energy solutions with studies on airside asset electrification, aimed at optimising the future planning of Changi Airport's power infrastructure.

The objectives

Optimising Operational Efficiency

Improve incident investigation and streamline operational processes using advanced transcription tools and data analysis

Enhancing Capacity Management

Use capacity estimation tools for effective demand-capacity balancing in airspace, contributing to smoother air traffic management

Sustainable Infrastructure Development

Plan for future power needs with airside asset electrification studies and sustainable energy solutions

The impact

This collaboration has led to significant advancements in operational efficiency and planning for Singapore’s aviation sector. By implementing intelligent tools for transcription, capacity estimation, and sustainable energy studies, Singapore's air hub is better positioned to meet future demands. Additionally, future work includes developing a secure, high-fidelity modelling platform, allowing aviation stakeholders to plan and simulate infrastructure with enhanced precision.
