Integrative Adolescence Research Programme (IARP) — iAdoRe

How much do we know about the adolescent stage?
In comparison to young children and adults, much less is known about adolescents’ development. So far, we know, the prevalence of mental health symptoms among youths is concerning, with statistics showing that 1 in 3 adolescents report experiencing such symptoms. To effectively address this issue, it is crucial to establish a comprehensive response system that can effectively deal with the various factors influencing the physical and mental health of adolescents. This system should be designed to consider and address the numerous factors that contribute to these health issues.

As part of the IARP programme, we collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other partners to better understand youths' development in Singapore. Read more about it here: Singapore youth study on adolescent development | The Straits Times

Integrative Adolescence Research Programme (IARP) — iAdoRe Sub-study
To study genetic factors which may influence mental health and overall well-being in adolescents, there will be a one-time off collection of saliva samples. Participation is voluntary and participants will have to be enrolled in the iAdoRe main study to take part in the sub-study. This sub-study has now been completed, hence, we are moving forward to the next phase of the study — Timepoint 3 and 4.

What does A*STAR IHDP hope to do?
We aim to identify the important factors that drive vulnerability and/or create resilience in adolescents.

How can you help?
iAdoRe (Main study)
You can be part of this mission if you are:
