Jointly developed by A*STAR and MTI, the Sectoral AI Centre of Excellence for Manufacturing (AIMfg) brings together research, industry, and government to create scalable AI solutions for manufacturing. AIMfg focuses on quality assurance, operations, predictive maintenance, design, and automation, as well as attracting and nurturing AI talent for the sector’s growth.
The rise of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Foundation Models underscores their potential in manufacturing. Supported by the National Robotics Programme, A*STAR researchers are exploring and replicating key models to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and applications in robotics to uncover potential research directions for Singapore.
