A*STAR I²R Events

Accelerating AI and Digital Health Innovation

Jointly organised by A*STAR I²R’s Fides Programme and Ministry of Health (MOH), this workshop explored cutting-edge privacy-preserving technologies, including homomorphic encryption, federated learning, and confidential computing, that provide trusted solutions for healthcare. Applications ranged from data anonymisation to secure multi-party collaborations and AI model development.

Participants were invited to submit use cases before the workshop for discussion on potential proof-of-concept projects.

Key discussion areas included:

1. Data and Analytics Collaboration: Strategies for maintaining privacy while conducting joint analyses with untrusted parties, including cross-border collaborations.

2. Effective Privacy for Implicit PII: Techniques to protect personally identifiable information in health data, such as genomics and medical images, with minimal data alteration.

3. AI Model Privacy and Governance: Ensuring that sensitive data remains secure during AI model training and inference, even when using external models.
