Dr. Qing Xianming is a Senior Principal Scientist II and Group leader of the Signal Processing, RF & Optical department at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R), A*STAR, Singapore. He leads his team in the development of niche and innovative technologies on RF systems and antennas for wireless systems for 5G/6G and satellites communication systems.
Dr. Qing is also a Fellow of IEEE and serves as the member of Fellow and Standards committees of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. He is also the associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology, the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies (Cambridge University Press/EuMA), and the editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Electronics (Chinese Institute of Electronics).
In his career, Dr Qing has published more than 290 technical papers, 2 books, and 14 book chapters, with more than 11350 citations. He is named in the Stanford University world’s top 2% of Scientists List. He won 6 Science and Technology Advancement Awards in P. R. China from 1987 to 1997, Singapore IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2006/2013/2014, Singapore Manufacturing Federation Award 2014, ISAP (International Symposium Antennas and Propagation) Best Paper Award 2010, and CST University Publication Award 2015.
He also served as the general co-chair for IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation 2015 and 2018, IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting 2021, Marina Forum on metamaterial/metantennas 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and IEEE international Conference on RFID Technology and Applications 2024 (IEEE RFID-TA 2024).
