A*Star ID Labs Story
A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (ID Labs) was established in April 2021. Founded in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ID Labs brings together an interdisciplinary team of scientists whose strong expertise in ID could be quickly applied to the emerging challenges of SARS-CoV-2.
ID Labs aims to be a global player in ID research and epidemic preparedness, bringing together scientists from all over the world into a thriving multidisciplinary research community. Led by Professor Lisa Ng, ID Labs advocates an intensely collaborative environment, fostering partnerships between a growing network of industry, clinical, and public sector collaborators.
Singapore is a key node within a globally connected scientific network, uniquely situating ID Labs to tackle the challenges posed by modern ID preparedness. ID Labs is actively recruiting investigators, post-docs, and PhD students from around the world, with training and funding opportunities available to drive cutting-edge translational ID research in Respiratory and Vector-borne diseases, Anti-microbial resistance and epidemic preparedness. Together, ID Labs is well positioned to do excellent research, develop new and effective technologies for detection, intervention and prevention of new and emerging pathogens to deliver better health and economic outcomes.
