RESEARCH PROGRAMMES
SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory pathogens are a constant threat to public health, capable of rapid mutation and spread if not carefully monitored, quickly diagnosable, and treatable with new therapeutics. Bacterial and parasitic pathogens, meanwhile, are becoming smarter, evolving resistance to therapeutic drugs and treatment regimens. In the developing world, such pathogens – including tropical diseases like malaria and dengue – continue to place a significant mortality and economic burden, necessitating new avenues for disease prevention and treatment.
