Heartiest Congratulations to Dr. Ady Suwardi, Deputy Head, of IMRE's Soft Materials Department. Ady is named one of the "Nanoscale Emerging Investigator 2022" by the journal, Nanoscale, Royal Society of Chemistry.

Nanoscale presents this themed issue highlighting 2022's rising stars in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology research. This special issue gathers the very best work from researchers in the early stages of their independent careers. Each contributor was recommended by experts in their fields for carrying out work with the potential to influence future directions in nanoscience and nanotechnology.

"As a young scientist, there is no shortcut, no substitute for hard work. It is an honour to be awarded the Nanoscale Emerging Investigator award 2022. I hope to inspire my peers and juniors alike to work hard and hopefully, one day, make it in scientific research. We are all in this together, let's help each other." - Dr. Ady Suwardi

    About Dr. Ady Suwardi
Ady Suwardi obtained his Bachelor from the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge, U.K., in 2018. He is currently a group leader at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). His research expertise lies in energy materials, focusing on thermoelectric materials. He currently also serves as the ECR Editorial Board in Materials Today Energy and Youth Editorial Board in Soft Science. He received an outstanding reviewer award from the Journal of Materials Chemistry A in 2020.
