Advanced Biomaterials
The Advanced Biomaterials department aims to develop impactful and novel biomedical materials that address the most pressing existing and future medical needs in Singapore and beyond. Through our expertise in chemical and polymer synthesis, we have developed capabilities for smart and stimuli-responsive hydrogels, bioactive polymers, sustainable biomaterials derived from alternative feedstock, micelles, antimicrobial materials, (nano)materials and porous materials for different biomedical applications. By working closely with collaborators and practicing clinicians, our technologies have been shown to be useful for treatment of cancer, ophthalmic diseases, sustained drug delivery, wound healing, antimicrobial applications, bioimaging, and many others.
