We are proud to announce that Dr Wang Jianbiao, scientist at A*STAR's Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (A*STAR IMRE) in Singapore, has been awarded as one of the 2025 Emerging Investigators by the Journal of Materials Chemistry A, a leading publication of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

This award strengthens my motivation to continue pursuing impactful research that bridges fundamental science with real-world energy applications. I am excited about the future of battery technology and committed to advancing materials chemistry in a way that supports a more sustainable energy landscape.

Dr Wang Jianbiao, 2025 JMCA Emerging Investigator

This recognition celebrates early-career researchers making impactful contributions to materials chemistry for energy and sustainability. Dr Wang’s featured article, “Hierarchical Vanadium Sulfide Nanosheets with Expanded Interchain Spacings for High Performance Sodium–Ion Batteries”, presents a novel anode material that enhances sodium-ion battery performance through structural innovation and mechanism-driven design.

Congratulations to Dr Wang for this well-deserved recognition.
