Meet Singapore's Materials Man

IMRE's Executive Director, Professor Loh Xian Jun, has a mission on "Science made in Singapore".

In an interview with Asian Scientist, Professor Loh Xian Jun, Executive Director of A*STAR's Institute of Materials and Engineering (IMRE), shared how innovations such as the smart mask and eye polymer he developed with his team could help improve the lives of Singaporeans. He said that his key focus was in the development of new and innovative materials for sustainability and energy-related applications, medical technologies, agritech and aquaculture. He also emphasized collaboration and building a “Created in Singapore” brand of research.
