Celebrating the Grand Opening of Nurasa’s Food Tech Innovation Centre (FTIC)

🎉 Celebrating the Grand Opening of Nurasa’s Food Tech Innovation Centre (FTIC) 🚀

Yesterday marks a monumental milestone in the food ecosystem as we commemorate the inauguration of the Food Tech Innovation Centre, a collaborative hub established by Nurasa to accelerate the commercialization of innovative ideas in partnership with our ecosystem partners.

The official opening ceremony was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor alongside distinguished guests from various public agencies and industry partners.

⭐ A*STAR’s SIFBI has two joint labs within the FTIC, specializing in fermentation and food processing. These labs serve as prime examples of public-private partnerships involving Nurasa, ScaleUp Bio and A*STAR. Supported by the Singapore Food Story R&D Programme, this partnership engages with start-ups, companies and research institutions to scale up  future food innovations, with a focus on translating research findings into prototypes, new ingredients, and diverse food products.  The Fermentation Joint Lab (FJL) is Singapore’s first food-grade fermentation and downstream processing facility, scalable up to 100L while the Food Processing Joint Lab (FPL) provides pilot-scale processing capabilities for sustainable food technology solutions. The advantage of having both joint labs in the same facility is that the biomass produced from FJL can be directly formulated into prototypes at FPL. This seamless process will further drive the progress of future food technologies, promoting the adoption of more sustainable, accessible, and innovative production methods.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing the FTIC to fruition. Here's to many more innovations and advancements that will emerge from this powerhouse of food tech innovation.
