Appointed as an APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer (2024-2025) - Dr. Wu Yan


Dr. Wu Yan has been appointed as an Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA) Distinguished Lecturer (2024-2025).

 This appointment is a significant recognition of the technical achievement, expertise, and leadership of an individual.
 
Every year, the Distinguished Lecturer Program (DLP) only appoints up to 10 distinguished lecturers, and Dr. Wu is one of the two in Singapore, elected for this term. 
 
As an APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer, Wu Yan will be an ambassador in the research and development of signal and information processing in Asia Pacific region, focusing on tailoring the specific needs of academia and professionals in industry and government. 
 
Dr. Wu Yan is the Deputy Head of the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Department at A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research, where he also works as a Principal Scientist and Leader of the Manipulation and Human-Robot Collaboration Group. 
 
He is also the current Chair of the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society (Singapore Chapter), Vice President of the Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence Association and Member of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Technical Committees on Cognitive Robotics, Haptics and Neuro-Robotics Systems.
