Dr Nancy Chen and Dr Pavitra Krishnaswamy - SG100WIT 2021

The Singapore 100 Women in Tech (SG100WIT) 2021 list highlights female role models in the infocomm technology industry. It aims to celebrate women who have made significant contributions to tech in Singapore over the past year.

This year, there are 2 recipients of this recognition from A*STAR I²R – Dr Nancy Chen and Dr Pavitra Krishnaswamy.

Dr Nancy Chen’s research in speech, language and dialogue processing is spearheading innovations in AI for education. Her team developed a Malay and Tamil speech evaluation system for the Ministry of Education’s Interactive Portal for Mother Tongue Languages.

Dr. Pavitra’s research proposed new machine learning solutions, enhancing decision support and resource-efficiency in healthcare. Her work demonstrated that health data can improve cardiovascular disease risk stratification allowing for more timely and targeted interventions.
