Singapore Airlines Partners A*STAR and other Agencies in Building a Digital Innovation Blueprint

Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced the launch of its Digital Innovation Blueprint on 29 Jan 2018 with key bilateral partnerships with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Economic Development Board (EDB) and National University of Singapore (NUS).

As part of SIA’s ongoing transformation programme, this Digital Innovation Blueprint is set to significantly boost SIA’s digital capabilities. Establishing partnerships with government agencies such as the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Economic Development Board (EDB), in addition to the National University of Singapore (NUS), SIA hopes to propel their digital transformation efforts to a next level.

Through the master research collaboration agreement with A*STAR, SIA will be driving the use of technologies such as virtual reality and data analytics within the airline group.

Solutions that SIA is working with A*STAR through the SIA-I2R Joint Laboratory includes predictive maintenance solutions using data analytics that enable the monitoring of critical components of its aircraft and identifying repairs or replacements needed ahead. This lowers the maintenance costs and decreases downtime of its aircrafts.
