The Future IMRE Technologies Webinar
Our speakers

Dr LIU HONG, IMRE, A*STAR
Optical Micro & Nano Printing
Abstract
In this webinar, Dr. Liu Hong will introduce the recent R&D works and new initiatives of the Printed Micro and Nano Optics Group. These works are developed under the ongoing A*STAR Programmatic NSLM WP8 project and SINGA Ph.D. Program.
The following topics will be covered:
- large area nanoimprint lithography to make flat optical lens,
- hybrid dielectric metasurfaces for third-harmonic generation using phase change material, and
- printed structural colors enabled by 3D photonic crystals
Biography
Dr. Liu Hong obtained his M. Eng and Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the National University of Singapore. He joined the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) in 2003. His research interest focused on developing advanced nanofabrication technologies for flat lenses, tunable metasurfaces, nanophotonics devices, artificially engineered materials and nanoplasmonics, optical nanolithography, etc. Currently, Dr. Liu Hong is leading the Nanofabrication Department in IMRE to advance the science and engineering of structured materials at micro-and nano-meter scale.

Dr. Wang Qian, IMRE, A*STAR
Nanoscale Imaging & Inspection
Abstract
The Nanoscale Imaging & Inspection group develops nanoscale imaging technologies for various applications, ranging from sample surface defect inspection, hyperspectral imaging to mid-infrared photonic sensing and imaging. Our cross-cutting research integrates advanced nanophotonics, material engineering, optics, and system engineering technologies that address key challenges in the field of imaging and inspection. In this webinar, I will share the fundamental research on light-matter interactions and next-generation light-related applications e.g., imaging/display, bioscience and engineering, advanced manufacturing, and defense.
Biography
Dr. Wang Qian is a research scientist at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR, since 2015. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University in 2012. Dr. Wang completed her Post Doctorate Programme under the A*STAR International Fellowship at the Optoelectronics Research Centre, the University of Southampton in Southampton, England. Her research interests include metasurface, plasmonics, phonon polaritons and nano-optics & photonics.
