The Oxide Lab

Abstract
The Oxide Lab group focuses on the study of transition metal oxide thin films and nanostructures, covering both fundamental material physics and functional electronic devices. Designed from basic electronic configurations of atoms and crystalline symmetries, the oxide thin films and nanostructures show a wide range of functional properties, including superconductivity, metal-insulator-transition, magnetism, and electrochemical activities for batteries and catalysts. In this webinar, Dr. Liu Huajun will show IMRE's recent work in high-performance functional oxide thin films with nanopillar structure, operando X-ray imaging of oxygen vacancies in memristive devices, and dynamic field modulation of oxygen octahedral framework in oxide heterostructures.

Biography
Dr. Liu Huajun received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He was awarded A*STAR International Fellowship for postdoctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory, USA. He is currently the group leader of The Oxide Lab group at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE). His research interests are in the field of transition metal oxide thin films and nanostructures, including their controlled synthesis, synchrotron X-ray based structural characterizations and device applications for microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), neuromorphic computing and Internet of Things (IoT).
