The Future IMRE Technologies Webinar
Our speakers

Dr Ho Pin, IMRE, A*STAR
Spin Technology for Electronic Devices (Hybrid)
Abstract
Spin-based technologies are promising avenues for efficient, fast, and enduring computing elements. In this webinar, I will share our recent work on chiral magnetic textures in multilayer films, and their phenomenology in nanostructure configurations which are built upon their manipulation in magnetic tunnel junctions and mobility in racetrack memory. Next, we discuss the promise of spin-based AI hardware consisting of magnetic tunnel junctions, domain wall and skyrmion racetracks. Lastly, we outline the potential of hybrid material platforms beyond ferromagnetic-based spintronics.
Biography
Dr. Ho Pin is a materials scientist at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE). A recipient of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Research Scholarship and NUS President Graduate Fellowship, she obtained her Ph.D. at NUS Department of Materials Science and Engineering in 2013. She was awarded the A*STAR International Fellowship to pursue her post-doctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology over 2013-2015. Her research interests focus on i) nanomagnetism, ii) spin-based memory and brain-inspired computing devices, iii) ferroelectric and multiferroic materials.
