A*STAR – NUS MSE Joint Workshop: Emerging Technologies for Environmental Sustainability

2020 12 08 Astar - NUS MSE workshop

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and three research institutes of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), namely, Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), and Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) have jointly put together a collaboration workshop on materials research and advanced technologies along the theme of environmental sustainability.

This is the first in a series of workshops addressing how materials science and engineering can help address emerging societal challenges.  There will be future workshops related to the circular economy, healthcare, and advanced materials for manufacturing and processing.

The collaboration workshop serves as a strategic platform for the research entities from both NUS and A*STAR to showcase their respective state-of-the-art research capabilities and existing collaborations, with the aim to inspire exciting ideas and identify new areas for future collaborations. The upcoming workshop will focus on two main research topics: (1) CO2 Capture and Conversion, and (2) Materials for Batteries and Electrocatalysis. It will feature 8 outstanding researchers from NUS MSE and A*STAR’s IMRE, IHPC and SIMTech, to share their exciting work in these areas.

For more details about the programme for the day as well as the speakers, please refer to the A*STAR - NUS MSE Joint Workshop Programme.

We look forward to your keen participation on 15 December at 9am via Zoom.
