Title: Thermoelectrics

Abstract
Thermoelectrics interconverts heat into electricity and electricity into heat pump. They can be used in energy harvesting and solid state cooling applications. Designing a good thermoelectrics involves navigating the complex interdependencies between thermal and electronic transport properties. In this webinar, both the fundamental physics governing thermoelectricity, as well as materials design of thermoelectrics will be discussed. Specifically, the delicate properties of layered binary IV-VI materials such as SnSe and SnS will be focused on.
