INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION
Since 1994, Singapore has been a member of the Metre Convention, an international diplomatic treaty on world metrology. NMC establishes primary measurement standards as defined by the SI under the Metre Convention, to ensure compatibility of these measurements standards with the international system.
As part of the international metrology community, NMC actively promotes and collaborates with national metrology institutes in the region through the Asia Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP), and other institutes worldwide through the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) and the Consultative Committees of CIPM.

NMC participates in international comparison of measurements, known as key comparison, as well as supplementary international comparison, in various technical areas.
Conducting technical assessments:
NMC has been invited to conduct technical peer assessment to other national metrology institutes, including BIPM, SCL Hong Kong, NMIA Australia, SIRIM Malaysia, KRISS Korea and NMISA South Africa.
