The recent Open House event organized was a resounding success. The event, which took place on 17th Aug 2023 at NMC’s new premises in Clean Tech III (CT3), part of Jurong Innovation District (JID) – showcased NMC’s strategic research initiatives and fostered meaningful engagement with a diverse audience from A*STAR family.

Amongst the participants were over 50 participants from SERC RIs (IMRE, ARTC, SIMTech, ISCE2, IHPC), Corporate Communication, A*GA, ERMO, I&E, IORO, SERC Council, National Platform (NAMIC, TCOMS), Legal, OSFA, ITSS, etc.

The Open House effectively highlighted our institute's innovative projects through interactive demonstrations, informative presentations, and guided tours of our state-of-the-art facilities. From engaging discussions with our brilliant researchers to hands-on demonstrations of strategic innovative projects, the Open House was a celebration of the spirit of exploration and collaboration that defines NMC.

Time and Frequency lab came to life as visitors delved into the intricacies of Singapore Standards Time and how time is being disseminated, while the Liquid Flow Lab sparked captivating conversations on the potential for advancements in digital bunkering securing Singapore as the top bunkering port in the world. Participants get to know the importance of accurate Mass measurement, its applications, and the future redefinition of SI unit for Mass (kg) from Pt-Ir to Planck constant when they tour around the Mass Lab. They also get to understand the self-diagnosed, self-healing sensor technology with reference gas and traceability to SI at the Chemical Lab.

This event not only provided a platform for knowledge exchange but also facilitated networking and collaboration opportunities. The positive feedback received from attendees underscores the value of such events in promoting our institute's accomplishments and strengthening our connections within the broader research community in A*STAR family.

We extend our appreciation to the dedicated team whose meticulous planning and execution made this event possible. Looking ahead, we will build on this success to continue fostering innovation, collaboration, and impactful research endeavours
