    Singapore joins the Metre Convention

    In 1994, Singapore acceded to the Metre Convention. As asignatory, Singapore maintains globally accepted measurement standards,ensuring consistency and trust in trade, scientific research, and industry. TheConvention promotes cooperation in the development of measurement standards,enhances product quality, simplifies regulatory compliance, facilitatesinternational trade, and ultimately contributes to economic efficiency andcompetitiveness on a global scale.
