Singapore joins the Metre Convention

In 1994, Singapore acceded to the Metre Convention. As a
signatory, Singapore maintains globally accepted measurement standards,
ensuring consistency and trust in trade, scientific research, and industry. The
Convention promotes cooperation in the development of measurement standards,
enhances product quality, simplifies regulatory compliance, facilitates
international trade, and ultimately contributes to economic efficiency and
