Going Underwater with Acoustic Measurement
NMC presented a paper on Underwater Calibration of Hydrophones at the IMEKO World Congress 2018
Low-frequency hydrophones is widely used for underwater acoustic detection and measurement for oceanic monitoring, oil and gas exploration, and sub-sea communications. NMC scientist, Dr David Khoo, presented his research works in Low-Frequency Calibration of Hydrophone using Vibrating Colum Method at the XXII World Congress of the International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO), which was held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK, from 3 to 6 September 2018 with the theme of “Knowledge through Measurement”. The international event is held every three years, with participants from the industry, national metrology institutes and academia congregate to discuss the latest issues and developments in measurement and instrumentation.
