    ARTC Innovation Week (AIW) 2017

The annual ARTC Innovation Week was held on 23rd and 24th November with over 200 attendees over the 2 day period. This year’s theme “Developing Tomorrow’s Manufacturing Opportunities Together” featured presentations by industry leaders on advanced manufacturing and supply chain strategies, such as Microsoft, Rolls-Royce, Siemens and National Instruments.

The SME Power Hour also featured special speakers from SuaLab (partner of JM Vistec) from Korea and M8M, an intra-logistics company headquartered in Singapore. 2017’s AIW also saw the introduction of speakers from FMCG market leaders comprising Nestle and Procter & Gamble, who shared their advanced manufacturing journey.

Attendees on the first day were also treated to an interactive demo and exhibition segment where they were introduced to new technological and capability developments for the industry. In addition to this, they were treated to displays from ARTC members.

AIW 2017 was a landmark year where the second day featured talks and workshops on training requirements in the remanufacturing sector. Company leaders and training specialists huddled to brainstorm and define training and skill development challenges as well as create a wish list of training practices.

ARTC also introduced business matching during the event. The new tool allowed for more networking opportunities amongst attendees with its seamless scheduling and one-click access.

In addition, the ARTC Annual Dinner was held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel on 21st November 2017. Prof Lam gave the welcome address. The event was well attended with over 160 guests from members and invited guests from the industry. The evening was enlivened with a raucous performance by local comedian, Rishi Budrani.

ARTC received numerous compliments on the event with many looking forward to another session next year.
