ROS-Industrial Consortium Asia Pacific
Robot Operating System Industrial (ROS-I) is an open-source project that extends the advanced capabilities of ROS software to industrial relevant hardware and applications. It is a global consortium with a regional presence across America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. The Advanced Remanufacturing Technology Centre (ARTC) manages the ROS-Industrial Consortium Asia Pacific.
The ROS-Industrial Consortium Asia Pacific focuses on the unique integration of cutting-edge ROS capabilities in manufacturing. In its open-source consortium project, individuals can utilize this versatile development framework to deliver complex, intelligent systems with higher efficiency, minimize maintenance costs, and provide training to upskill ROS technology.
ROS-Industrial Consortium Asia Pacific works directly with industry partners in its ecosystem of consortium members to educate and accelerate the adoption of robotic systems with industrial-grade ROS technologies. Through understanding their member's requirements, the team develops suitable ROS modules while offering significant benefits for companies and the workforce. By providing an open platform with a standard set of architecture, tools, and ready-to-use modules to create advanced robotics solutions more quickly and more affordably, they leverage the comprehensive database of development and testing provided online by ROS communities across the globe.
Tailored to the needs of manufacturers, the Consortium aims to enhance the development of hardware-agnostic programs by standardizing interfaces, improving software scalability and reliability. They also enable companies to create new products and solutions quicker by leveraging available ROS components.
