One-North Festival 2018
Jointly organized by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Singapore Science Centre, X-Periment! aimed to bring out some of the latest scientific research which allowed the public to experience science in a more hands-on approach.
This year’s theme was “AI & I”, where members of the public got to experience first-hand the latest innovations in Artificial Intelligence (AI) across health, medicine, technology and more.
Guest-of Honour Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State, Ministry for Trade & Industry, was present to tour some exhibition booths at X-Periment!, including ARTC’s.
As one of the 25 partners at the festival, ARTC featured cutting edge innovations, such as the Additive Manufacturing (AM) team who showcased their 3D Printer to demonstrate how 3D printing is done, showing how AM will transform the way parts are being manufactured in future factories.
The Advanced Robotic Application (ARA) team also exhibited their Autonomous Guided Vehicle (AGV), where it picked and transported parts from point to point, simulating the execution of jobs with high risks and demonstrating the AGV’s ability to recognize objects and even obstacles
