    Industry leaders and partners at the Joint Lab Completion Ceremony

    In 2017, a $68 million investment Joint Lab was launched in collaboration with A*STAR, Rolls-Royce and Singapore Aero Engine Services (SAESL). Termed as the Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab (SMJL), the 6-year journey ended today, signifying the completion of the SMJL.

    To date, SMJL has successfully completed 50 innovation projects, implemented 18 cutting-edge technologies, engaged 200 local enterprises. The Joint Lab has played an important role in shaping the Singapore's Manufacturing Ecosystem.

    The completion event hosted by ARTC was graced by the presence of Prof Tan Chorh Chuan, Chairman of A*STAR, Dr Bicky Bhangu, President of SEA, Pacific & South Korea at Rolls-Royce along with Mr Simon Middlebrough, CEO of SAESL.

    The event featured keynote addresses from ARTC leadership and representatives from partner organisations, highlighting the lab’s contributions to driving sustainable, future-ready manufacturing solutions. Guests also had the opportunity to tour the lab and witness live demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies co-developed through the partnership.
