A*STAR and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen research collaboration in Smart and Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (SSAM).

The MoU sets the stage for the establishment of a Joint Research Laboratory that will bring together leading researchers and domain experts from both institutions. The collaboration will focus on advancing key areas including Next-Generation Manufacturing, Embodied AI Robotics, and AI in Manufacturing.

This milestone builds on the long-standing partnership between A*STAR and NTU Singapore, anchored in a shared commitment to research excellence and talent development. Over the years, the collaboration has led to impactful research outcomes and strengthened industry engagement.

Through strategic investments and a common vision, this renewed partnership will further nurture future-ready research talent, accelerate technology translation, and reinforce the pipeline of industry-aligned innovations — supporting the continued transformation of Singapore’s manufacturing sector.
