On 2 July, ARTC was honoured to host Dr Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens, together with his leadership team, industry partners, and A*STAR colleagues.

During the visit, Dr Busch and Mr Beh Kian Teik, CEO of A*STAR, officially unveiled the Smart and Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (SSAM) Catalyst within ARTC’s facility. Developed in collaboration with Siemens, the SSAM Catalyst is an innovation sandbox where automation, digitalisation, and industrial AI converge to address critical industry challenges. The platform provides companies with a low-barrier environment to co-innovate, pilot, and scale smart manufacturing technologies across key sectors such as Aerospace, Semiconductors, and Biomedical.

Following the launch, guests were given a guided tour of the SSAM Catalyst Showcase, featuring advanced solutions in action.

A highlight of the visit was the executive dialogue, ”Shaping Tomorrow: The Future of Semiconductor Manufacturing in ASEAN,” moderated by Prof Jay Lee. The session, attended by Siemens and ecosystem partners, generated valuable insights into ASEAN’s strategic position as an innovation hub and a trusted anchor for resilient, future-ready supply chains.
