As part of Singapore’s whole-of-government (WOG) Advanced Manufacturing campaign led by the Economic Development Board (EDB), A*STAR joined EDB, Enterprise Singapore and JTC Corporation (JTC) at Hannover Messe 2026 (HM26), the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology held at Hannover Exhibition Grounds, Germany.
The Singapore Pavilion showcased the nation’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, highlighting how public-private partnerships, translational R&D and innovation are enabling manufacturers to remain competitive in an increasingly digital and AI-driven landscape.
A*STAR ARTC contributed to the national showcase through AIMfg, a national platform developed by A*STAR and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) to accelerate AI adoption in manufacturing. Visitors experienced AIMie, AIMfg’s agentic AI framework, which demonstrates how AI can support decision-making and improve productivity across manufacturing operations.
At HM26, A*STAR and Microsoft also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in AI engineering and deployment for manufacturing. The partnership will support the development and scaling of agentic AI solutions under AIMfg, including AIMie, and aims to accelerate industry adoption through a broader ecosystem of technology partners and system integrators.
A*STAR ARTC also highlighted the impact of its industry collaborations in delivering demand-driven outcomes for manufacturers.
Among the featured success stories was the Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab between A*STAR, Rolls-Royce and SAESL. As an anchor member of A*STAR ARTC, Rolls-Royce has worked closely with A*STAR and industry partners to develop and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies. A video showcase at the Singapore Pavilion highlighted outcomes such as the deployment of 18 technologies on the factory floor and more than 20% productivity improvement at Rolls-Royce’s fan blade facility in Singapore.
Together with A*STAR broader showcases across aerospace, semiconductor and pharmaceutical manufacturing, these exhibits demonstrated how industry partnerships and applied research are strengthening Singapore’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies.
