A*STAR in MedTech is centrally managed by the 1st joint MedTech Cluster headed by Assistant Chief Executives of Innovation & Enterprise (I&E), Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) and Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC), together with the MedTech/Diagnostics/Digital Health industry cluster at I&E. 

In this manner, A*STAR consolidates MedTech capabilities & knowledge to enable stronger focus & greater synergies in:

  1. Development of strategic research programmes
  2. Bridging basic research and translation/productisation, and
  3. Allowing faster decision making & mobilisation through the value chain to achieve success.

Principal Investigators

A*STAR's MedTech Principal Investigators (PIs) play a pivotal role in contributing to the broader landscape of biomedical research and healthcare innovation. They are not only responsible for shaping and guiding the direction of scientific inquiry, but also determine the practical applications and potential impact of MedTech advancements on healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

Our PIs have an excellent record of scientific excellence, proven outcomes in translation and a network that allows them an intimate understanding of the clinical/industry need. Our PIs serve as mentors and role models for the next generation of MedTech researchers, cultivating talent and nurturing a culture of innovation within their respective research institutions.

These individuals are pivotal in translating research into practical applications and advancing A*STAR MedTech's strategic goals.
