Supporting the Singapore Food Story
Announced in early 2019, the Singapore Food Story spells out Singapore’s vision to turn our food challenges into strategic advantages, ensuring a supply of safe food by producing 30 per cent of the nation’s nutritional needs locally by 2030.
A*STAR’s Agritech & Aquaculture Horizontal Technology Coordinating Office (A2 HTCO) coordinates and catalyses the development and application of multi-disciplinary capabilities to support Singapore’s mission. A2 works closely with the Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI), as well as other A*STAR research institutes and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) to address challenges in food security, resiliency, sustainability and food safety.
A2 also forms close partnerships with industry, including MNCs, LLEs, SMEs, agri-food accelerators and start-ups to bring translational R&D to the market.
Our R&D and Technologies
A2 takes a multi-disciplinary approach in building and strengthening new and deep capabilities that can provide solutions for tropical agritech and aquaculture.
