Qingfeng Chen

Biography

Dr Qingfeng Chen received his Ph.D in 2008 from University of Science and Technology of China. He joined in Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) to pursue postdoctoral research from 2008 to 2011. In January 2012, he started humanized mouse laboratory in Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR Singapore. He is currently a Senior Principal Investigator in IMCB A*STAR, joint Principal Investigator in Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) and adjunct associate professor in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Chen is an awardee of President Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Gilead Sciences International Research Scholar, Singapore National Research Foundation Fellowship and Singapore National Centre for Infectious Diseases Fellowship. His main research focus is to establish stable functional human blood, liver and other biological systems in mice (Humanized Mouse) to bridge the species gap between experimental animals and clinic outcomes. He has published 60+ research articles demonstrating that humanized mouse technology can be used broadly in the study of human specific diseases and drug development. With the recognition by industries, he has been appointed as lead-PI and Co-I for many biotech companies’ joint laboratories with IMCB. He is also the founder of two biotech companies.
