Official Launch of Smart & Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (SSAM) Industry Joint Labs
On 3rd October 2025, The Official Launch of Smart & Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing (SSAM) Industry Joint Labs was held at Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus organised by A*STAR in collaboration with Abrasive Engineering, Applied Total Control, Grand Venture Technology, Rolls-Royce and SAESL. The launch of 4 joint labs:
- Rolls-Royce – Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) – A*STAR Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab 2.0, for fan blade manufacturing and aerospace MRO
- Abrasive Engineering Pte Ltd (AE) – A*STAR Joint Lab 2.0, for next-generation surface enhancement solutions
- APPLIED TOTAL CONTROL TREATMENT PTE LTD (ATC) – A*STAR Joint Lab, for advanced sustainable surface engineering
- Grand Venture Technology Limited (GVT) – A*STAR Joint Lab, for customised manufacturing in advanced ceramics
brought together approximately 186 guests comprising of industry leaders, trade associations, public agencies to commemorate a significant step forward for advanced manufacturing in Singapore. Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology, Ministry of Trade and Industry, also graced the event as guest-of-honour.
Participants also toured the Rolls-Royce and SAESL facilities, including showcases by AE, ATC, and GVT, as well as the Smart Manufacturing Joint Lab 1.0.
