Visit by Governor-General of Australia
On 4 August 2025, Australia’s Govenor-General Samantha Mostyn and her delegation visited A*STAR SIMTech at as part of her State Visit to Singapore.
The visit involved 16 representatives, including senior executives, government officials, institutes of higher learning and was hosted by A*STAR’s leadership, including Prof Tan Chorh Chuan, Chairman, Prof Lim Keng Hui, Assistant Chief Executive (Science & Engineering Research Council) and Dr David Low, CEO, Advanced Remanufacturing Technology Centre (ARTC).
The visit highlighted the CSIRO–A*STAR 2+2 Programme, which fosters cross-border collaboration between research and industry partners in areas such as advanced manufacturing and sustainability.
At A*STAR ARTC, the delegation was introduced to key initiatives including the EV Battery Testing and Disassembly Line, joint projects in metal matrix composites, and the Model Factory and Innovation Factory at A*STAR SIMTech.
The visit underscores A*STAR SIMTech’s role as a global hub for collaborative research and innovation and reinforces our dedication to building strategic partnerships that drive technological advancement and sustainable growth in manufacturing.
