4 Papers Accepted at AI 4 X 2025
26 May 2025
Congratulations to the following scientists from A*STAR Centre for Frontier AI Research (A*STAR CFAR) on having their papers accepted at the AI for Science (AI 4 X) Conference 2025:
- Prof Ivor Tsang, Director, Distinguished Principal Scientist
- Dr Qian Hangwei, Scientist
- Dr Yao Yinghua, Scientist
- Dr Zhang Jie, Scientist
List of accepted papers:
1. | Sparse Autoencoders Reveal Interpretable Structure in Small Gene Language Models Haoxiang Guan, Jiyan He, Jie Zhang Our study demonstrates that sparse autoencoders (SAEs) can extract biologically meaningful representations from small gene language models, revealing structured features at both the nucleotide and regulatory element levels. |
2. | RetiRAG: A Retrieval-Augmented Generation Framework for Specialized Ophthalmology Applications |
3. | CogCommon: Enhancing Cross-Domain Knowledge Extraction with LLM-Assisted Commonality Discovery Chong Hu*, Hangwei Qian, Ivor Tsang The proposed CogCommon approach leverages cognitive linguistics to integrate cross-domain knowledge, improving entity extraction and connectivity in semiconductors while maintaining modularity, with notable gains in smaller LLMs. |
4. | EVOL3D: A Large-Scale 3D Structure Dataset for Investigating Mutational Effects in Homologous Proteins Zhiqiang Zhong, Yinghua Yao, Davide Mottin, Jun Pang We introduce Evol3D, a large-scale open-source dataset comprising around 150K AlphaFold 3 predicted protein 3D structures derived from three extensively studied homologous protein families. |
Jointly organised by the Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials (I-FIM) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), National Research Foundation of Singapore (NRF) and DSO National Laboratories, the AI 4 X conference is premier gathering of researchers who revolutionise Natural Science with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The inaugural conference will be held from 8th – 11th July at University Town, NUS.
