Message from IHPC's Executive Director
Welcome to Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC)
Established in 1998, IHPC is A*STAR’s premier research institute for computational modelling, simulation & artificial intelligence (AI). We combine multidisciplinary capabilities under one roof to push new frontiers in science and technology to solve major scientific, industrial and societal challenges.
Our R&D activities focus on:
- highly complex modelling & simulation (M&S) know-how & capabilities of strategic value with particular interest on the interfaces between different physics and physical scale
- high-fidelity and high-efficiency M&S-AI hybrids to address challenges posed by applications with real-time computing demands
- M&S and AI Systems that leverage on strategic, multifarious national data assets that provide unique value proposition, and
- the intersection between soft social sciences and hard computational techniques to develop next-gen software and machines for better symbiosis with humans to amplify human potential
These core capabilities enable us to tackle real-world challenges in physical and human systems, such as in manufacturing, energy, transportation and urban systems, environmental sustainability and healthcare. Our work is represented in top tier scientific publications, have won international and local awards, and our talents are recognised in global professional bodies including scientific academies overseas.
We are committed to creating new values for our partners from the industry and government agencies through translating our R&D into commercial outcomes that will bring about positive impact. Through strong and long-term partnerships, we seek to contribute to Singapore's economic and societal growth.
