Adding the Human Touch

Dr Desmond Ong from A*STAR's Artificial Intelligence Initiative and IHPC was featured in The Straits Times Scholars' Choice on 5 Jan 19.  The article describes how Dr Ong focuses on research surrounding human reasoning, with the aim of improving artificial intelligence.  It highlights his job scope in formulating precise research questions, designing experiments that can answer those questions, and building computational models that translate the answers into a language that computers can understand.
