IHPC’s R&D work in offshore structures and its collaborative efforts with Sembcorp Marine for the ballast water treatment system were featured on the front page of The Straits Times’ Business section on 24 April 2017.

The article, titled “R&D focus key in offshore, marine sector”, highlighted that IHPC is working with Keppel Offshore Marine and Technology Centre to develop an advanced prediction tool for deep sea platforms. The tool will help industry players to predict the impact of harsh environmental conditions on deep sea structures.

IHPC’s collaboration with Sembcorp Marine and its greener and more efficient ballast water treatment system was also highlighted. The article also included a quote from Prof Alfred Huan, ED IHPC, on the importance of investing in R&D for the marine and offshore industry, as well as the push for digital manufacturing for the sector.
