At 17, Dr Sari Shafidah Shafi'ee, a data scientist at A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), loved to set up her own computer and she helped her friends to do so too. Now, with her expertise in data analytics, she is helping companies to develop analytic solutions to improve efficiency and production operations.

Dr Sari started out as a research engineer with A*STAR's Data Storage Institute (DSI). After working at DSI for six years, she received an A*STAR scholarship to further her doctorate studies in signal processing for the data storage industry.

Today, she is among a handful of data scientists who have expertise in data analytics at the Institute of High Performance Computing Institute (IHPC), working closely with industry partners like multinational companies in analytics-related projects.

As part of A*STAR's T-Up scheme, Dr Sari supports InnoArk Pte Ltd in developing smart quality management tools for the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) packaging process.
