IHPC works with Sembcorp Marine to develop more efficient ballast water treatment system

IHPC's collaboration with Sembcorp Marine Ltd to develop a ballast water treatment system was reported in Lianhe Zaobao. The article, titled "New UV ballast water management system is more efficient and energy saving in killing bacteria", highlighted that IHPC has partnered with Sembcorp Marine to produce a low energy and environmentally-friendly UV ballast water management system. Using modelling and simulation, IHPC worked with Sembcorp Marine to optimise the treatment of ballast water, reducing its design cycle from 450 days to approximately 60 days. The article also highlighted that this system is the first made-in-Singapore system in the global ballast water treatment market.
