A*STAR’s course on “Basic Metrology and Measurement Quality Assurance” is designed to provide engineering professionals with the essential skills needed to ensure reliable and accurate measurements in their work. Participants will establish a strong foundation in metrological principles, focusing on measurement uncertainty analysis, the development of calibration procedures, and the interpretation of calibration reports. Understanding measurement uncertainty and identifying its components in the measurement process are crucial for effectively expressing measurement results in design or manufacturing across various industries and calibration laboratories.
Through hands-on learning and practical applications, the course allows participants to develop competencies in designing metrology recipes, evaluating measurement performance, conducting uncertainty analysis, troubleshooting instrument issues, and implementing effective measurement quality assurance practices.
This programme is designed for professionals working in measurement and quality assurance, including metrologists, calibration and testing engineers, measuring instrument suppliers, QA/QC personnel, process control engineers, and research and development engineers.
Participants will build competencies to manage metrology recipes, evaluate measurement performance, and troubleshoot instrument issues.
The knowledge acquired in this course is also valuable for understanding and managing measurement uncertainty in emerging fields such as Carbon Removal Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), etc.
This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in metrology and measurement quality assurance, including how to:
Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Attendance (COA) by A*STAR if they meet the following criteria:
Note: Trainees will have to bear the full course fee upon failure to meet either one of the criteria.
The full course fee for this course is $1,600 before funding and prevailing GST.
