AIM-READY: Sustainable Operations* (16 Hours)

Introduction

Manufacturing organisations face growing pressure to improve resource efficiency while reducing costs and carbon emissions — yet operational data is often fragmented across systems, making it difficult to act on sustainability opportunities with confidence. This intermediate-level course equips manufacturing professionals with the knowledge and tools to assess, prioritise and plan the adoption of the A*STAR Resource Efficiency Monitoring Analytics Platform (REMAP) — an AI-enabled solution for sustainable operations across energy, water and waste.

What is REMAP about?

The Resource Efficiency Monitoring and Analytics System (REMAP), developed by A*STAR, enables companies to leverage its monitoring and analytics capabilities to assess the energy and resource efficiency of their equipment in real time. By providing continuous visibility into equipment performance, REMAP allows companies to easily identify hotspots of excessive resource usage. These hotspots can then be analysed to determine actionable steps, empowering companies to achieve quantifiable improvements in resource efficiency.

Participants will learn to identify high-impact analytics use cases, define measurable KPIs, evaluate data and technology readiness, select appropriate analytics approaches, and build a compelling business case for implementation. Through case studies, readiness assessments and project-based learning, each participant will leave with a practical REMAP adoption roadmap and implementation proposal for a priority use case.

About this Programme

Resource-intensive manufacturers — across precision engineering, electronics, aerospace, energy and chemicals, biomedical, and food manufacturing — face a common challenge: operational and sustainability data sits in silos, limiting visibility into where efficiency gains are possible and how ready the organisation is to pursue them.

The AIM-Ready: Sustainable Operations course aims to address this directly. The programme provides a structured methodology to surface high-value opportunities, assess organisational and technical readiness, and develop a realistic roadmap for REMAP pilot implementation and continuous improvement.

Who Should Attend

This course is well-suited for mid-career professionals working in or alongside manufacturing environments, particularly those involved in sustainability, operations, engineering, facilities management, IT/OT integration, or digital transformation initiatives. No prior experience with REMAP is required, though participants should have a working familiarity with manufacturing operations or resource management.

Course Outline

This course takes participants through a rigorous, four-stage methodology for driving measurable sustainability outcomes across Water, Energy, and Waste operations. Each stage builds on the last — moving from strategic prioritisation through to on-the-ground execution — ensuring that every decision is evidence-based and every action is purposefully sequenced.

Promote awareness across Water, Energy, and Waste — Build a clear understanding of resource efficiency principles while highlighting the cost implications, regulatory pressures, and operational opportunities manufacturers face across all three domains. Participants will develop the foundation to recognise where resource efficiency can create tangible business value.
Assess organisational readiness across data, IoT, and digital maturity — Go beyond aspiration by conducting a hard-nosed gap analysis of the organisation’s data infrastructure, IoT capabilities, and digital systems. This stage exposes the real constraints and enablers that will determine the pace and feasibility of each domain’s transformation.
Craft a phased, sequenced roadmap across all three domains — Convert readiness findings into a deployment roadmap that is both ambitious and executable. Participants will learn to sequence initiatives strategically — locking in early wins while laying the groundwork for more complex, longer-horizon interventions.
Execute with a detailed, domain-level implementation plan — Move from planning to action with a comprehensive blueprint covering IoT specifications, data requirements, analytics design, and deployment sequencing. Participants leave with a plan that is ready to be stress-tested and put into practice from day one.

Upon Completion of the Course

Participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Attendance (COA) by SIMTech and/or ARTC if they meet the following criteria:

Achieve at least 75% course attendance;
Take all assessments; and
Pass the course.

Note: Trainees will have to bear the full course fee upon failure to meet either one of the criteria.

Pre-Requisites

Applicants should possess a degree in any discipline or a diploma with a minimum of 3 years of related working experience.
Applicants who do not have the required academic qualifications are still welcome to apply, but shortlisted candidates may be required to attend an interview for special approval.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Full Course Fee

The full course fee for this course is $1,600 before funding and prevailing GST.

Nett Course Fee

The Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) scheme applies to lawful foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens with (i) at least one Singapore Citizen child or are expecting one from the marriage, or at least three years of marriage, and (ii) where the Singapore Citizen sponsor is able to support the family. All LTVP+ holders can be identified with their green visit pass cards, with the word 'PLUS' printed on the back of the card.

Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) Holders

The Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) scheme applies to lawful foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens with

¹ Enhanced Training Support For Small & Medium Enterprise Scheme (ETSS)
The ¹Enhanced Training Support for Small & Medium Enterprises scheme (ETSS) supports company-sponsored participants with up to 90% course fee subsidies. To qualify, both the employers and trainees must meet the following eligibility criteria. Eligible Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) must meet all of the following conditions: Registered or incorporated in Singapore Employment size of not more than 200 employees, or annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million SME-sponsored trainees must meet all of the following: Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident Course fees are fully paid for by the employer Trainee is not a full-time national serviceman Further Information: This scheme is intended for all organisations, including non-business entities not registered with ACRA, for example, Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs), societies, etc. Only ministries, statutory boards, and other government agencies are NOT eligible under the Enhanced Training Support for SMEs Scheme. The ²SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) is meant for employer-sponsored and self-sponsored Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above.

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC)
All Singapore Citizens aged 25 years old and above are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit (Opening Credit), which can be used to offset course fees (for self-sponsored registrations only).

SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career)
The SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) is only applicable for the full ASTAR SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP)* enrolments, and cannot be used for standalone or individual module sign-ups.
