Dr Daniel Wise received his M.Eng. (Hons) degree from King’s College London in 2011, and his Ph.D. from The University of Sheffield in 2015. He’s been a Scientist at A*STAR Institute of High Performance Computing, Singapore since 2016, and is currently the Innovation Lead in the Fluid Dynamics Department. He was part of the project team responsible for the Integrated Environmental Modeller software which won the President’s Technology Award in 2019.
Dr Wise’s main research interests are in the aerospace and built environment industries, and include flow control and drag reduction in turbulent boundary layers, as well as environmental fluid mechanics and urban microclimate modelling. In addition to his own research, Dr Wise works closely with the department leadership team to coordinate R&D engagements with our industry and agency partners. His role is to help ensure that our fundamental research is translated into impactful outcomes to agency and industry.
